The Welcome Blog

Welcome to the Wild Wagner blog,

This space is meant to be an outlet for me during my journey in life and as a photographer and creative. A place where I can be raw and open about the infinite struggles and doubts that come with creating and sharing your own work with the world. After all, a domain might just be cheaper than therapy.

But, for the most part, I’m excited to share the wonders of this world with all of you. We as wildlife photographers have such a unique privilege to see the quiet things that happen in the early hours of the morning, the things deep in the mountains that some may not ever know exist or are tuned into the natural patterns that many folks have left, for the birds. I wouldn’t say it’s a requirement, but for me, a lot of what makes the early mornings and cold rivers worth it is having this ability to teach others about their own natural history and connectivity to the earth. Our ancestors used to know every knook and cranny of their respective homes and there is something very human and nurturing about reconnecting with nature.

This first entry is happening during the holidays and we’re preparing for a classic Colorado winter of snow and quiet forests. I’m sure you’ll see plenty of “WHERE ARE ALL THE BIRDS” rants and frustrated seasonal depression posts but there will also be celebration and vulnerability and a place where we can all connect.

Thanks for stopping by!
